Windswept fields, summer rains, cloudless days, ripening wheat, the sun, the shade, the forms of trees close by or distant, these are a few of my favourite things. The land we live in and near is part of us. I represent the land around me in an expressive, gestural fashion. Dense colour and vibrant hues render the verdant, ever-changing landscape we call home. This series expresses the sentimental values of our environment. Every day the landscape arrives with changes, life grows and dims. Water and light create more or less vibrancy and growth. This piece revels in the vibrant nature of fall in Ontario. Each year the hills create a stunning vibrant display of colour and chance. The wind and rain dictate how long the display will last. Only you can decree if you get out to experience it or not. Fall is a fleeting period and its end is heralded by leafless deciduous trees. Then winter begins its long slow creep.
