A Somerset Afternoon $150.00

This image is symbolic of the simple, clean architecture of Bermuda. The rectory home in Somerset  Bermuda provided the inspiration. I was at a residency on the island and was struck by the simple lines of the home as I passed by it on the bus each day, on my way to the studio. One day I simply got off the bus to take some photos. First I did a small watercolour of the image, then once I was home I worked it into this silkscreen you see here. Once they were finished I also spent some time adding to the large open space the piece provided me with, to add additional imagery and commentary. It provided the perfect foil for visual comments…

“A Somerset Afternoon” is an original print. It is a serigraph, more commonly called a silkscreen. This image was created in conjunction with Viki Ball a professional printer from Ottawa. We began simply and proceeded through seven layers of colour to complete the image. It is a limited edition of 100 and some are still available.
