I’m still settling into my new(ish) life here in Bear River Nova Scotia. At heart, I think we all are kind of tribal, and with that in mind, becoming part of a small community takes time and grace. (I’m still working on the grace part..)
Up here on the hillside overlooking the Bear River valley, I watch the seasons flow by me.
The clouds, the light and the change of season are always a joy to witness, even when it is threatening. It all informs my sense of tone, colour or drama in my work.
My home faces south and has a good view easterly. The sun sets uphill and so, the nearby trees, cast long cooling shadows at the end of day.
Winter is often a time of intense creativity for me on canvas and paper. I’ve plenty of time to think, and practice my art.
I have a few projects in mind for this winter, and as usual, I have submissions to imagine and create on paper and then submit to various organisations. I love a little jaunt on my snowshoes in the winter, the slow pace of it and the wonders of my natural environment are a minimalist’s dreamscape!
I want to thank anyone and everyone for all the support I receive with responses to my art, those that reply to my email newsletter, those that admire a piece I’ve created and those of course who purchased something from me and support my creative journey.
I don’t have any special sales ready for you yet, but here is the link to my whole collection (that I have images of, another constant project) …)
Let me know which one you like, add it to your favourites and we can talk about it. available art
